Biography

Nia Black Amuzie is a Media Executive, Personality and Entrepreneur whose work bridges storytelling, culture, and global impact. With a focus on cultural, social, and political issues, Nia uses her platforms to amplify diverse voices and meaningful dialogue across the diaspora. She was awarded the Global Diaspora Champion Award by the American Caribbean Chamber of Commerce for her advocacy on diaspora affairs in the United States and her extensive work in improving education across Africa.

Nia has served as a freelance television host for local stations such as Afrocentrik TV and CryOut TV in Houston, Texas, and is a TEDx speaker known for her thought-provoking insights on leadership, purpose, and the power of storytelling.

As the Founder and Chief Executive of Nia Black Studios, a global media and marketing company, Nia provides creative and strategic leadership across content development, brand partnerships, and media production. Under her direction, the studio has become a hub for cross-continental storytelling and creative collaboration.

She is also the Host and Executive Producer of Conversations with Nia, an original talk show that explores authentic and thought-provoking discussions with influential voices in culture, business, and entertainment. In addition, she hosts Story of Becoming, a collaboration with Who Is Who in Nigerian Diaspora, spotlighting successful Nigerians across the globe and their journeys of growth and impact.

A skilled marketing executive, Nia drives innovative branding, communications, and digital strategies that elevate visibility, expand reach, and foster engagement across global markets. She is deeply passionate about mentoring emerging creatives, cultivating partnerships, and creating spaces where talent and opportunity meet. Through her work, Nia continues to build a media brand that champions creativity, empowerment, and representation. Proving that storytelling is one of the most powerful tools for transformation and connection.

Beyond media, Nia is the Founder and Executive Director of Glow Up Africa, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rebuilding educational infrastructures in West Africa. Under her leadership, the organization has completed multiple borehole water projects in the eastern region of Nigeria, improving access to clean water and education for local communities.

Nia holds a Master’s degree in Global Health and Social Justice from the prestigious King’s College London, where she focused on global epidemics and the role of international actors such as the UN, IMF, and WHO. She has contributed to numerous mental health initiatives across the UK and Africa and previously served as the Moderator of the Virtual Monthly Series hosted with the Ambassador of the African Union to the United States, facilitating conversations on issues affecting Africans in the diaspora.

Previously, Nia served as Executive Director of MANNA Houston, a nonprofit that provides food, clothing, and financial assistance to families in need. Under her leadership, she managed a $500,000 organizational budget, expanded revenues by 60%, and increased the organization’s reach from feeding 10,000 families to 15,000 families in one year.
